Economics & financial consultingNairobi, since 2018

Win the bid. Fund the project. Make the right call.

We build the numbers, bids and plans that have to survive a lender, a tender board or a boardroom. Senior people do the work, check every line, and stay until it lands.

Why Staxad

Big opportunities tend to arrive with short deadlines and hard questions.

The tender closes on Friday. The bank likes the project but wants a model it can test. The board wants a strategy next month, and everyone is already stretched.

This is the work we do every week, alongside your team or on its behalf. We are a small firm on purpose: the person you meet on the first call is the person doing your work, and our name goes on it.

  • Senior consultants on every project, start to finish
  • Numbers that hold when an evaluator pulls a thread
  • Documents that read well and arrive on time

East Africa is buildingRoads, ports, power, new markets. Before any of it happens, someone has to make the case. We help you make it well.

What we do

Five services, often combined. A tender usually needs a financial model; a strategy needs a document that opens doors.

  1. Know your numbers before anyone else asks.

    • Business and project finance models
    • Feasibility studies and investment memoranda
    • Reviews and repairs of existing models
    • Scenario and stress testing

Selected work

Three projects we can describe. Every client stays anonymous, because discretion is part of the job.

How we work

The same four steps on every job, whether it is a two-week tender or a year-long corridor model.

  1. 01 · Listen

    A real conversation first.

Your business, your deadline and what a win looks like for you. We plan the work around that, not around a template.

  2. 02 · Propose

Scope, timeline and fee in writing.

Before any work starts you know exactly what you are getting and what it costs. No surprises later.

  3. 03 · Build

    Senior people, every line checked.

Models, research, proposals and documents, built by the people you met on the first call. You stay in the loop without doing the work twice.

  4. 04 · Land

    We stay until it counts.

Submission day, the investor meeting, the board presentation. Our name is on the work, so we are in the room when it matters.

Where we work

Kenya is home. Much of our work follows the trade corridors inland, so we already know the regulators, the procurement rules and the pressures in each market.

Five countries, one corridor. Cross-border trade, dry ports and export zones are where much of our modelling lives.

A small, senior team that signs its work

Staxad started in Ruiru in 2018 with a simple belief: businesses and institutions in East Africa deserve world-class advice from people who understand how things really work here.

Our team brings together economics, sociology, finance and technology. That mix lets us read the numbers and the people behind them, which is usually where projects are won or lost. We keep the team small on purpose, and we would rather turn a job down than do it half well.

Questions

The things people ask before they call. Anything else, ask it in the form below.

We are a small company. Is this for us?

Yes. Some of our favourite projects are a first big tender or a first funding round. More than 15 start-ups have launched with our help. If the work matters to you, it matters to us.

Who will actually work on my project?

A senior consultant leads every project from the first call to delivery. The people who win the work are the people who do it.

The tender closes soon. Is there still time?

Often, yes. Send us the closing date and the tender document today. We will tell you honestly whether there is enough time to do it properly, and what we would need from you.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the size of the job. After a short call we send a written proposal with the scope, timeline and fee, so you know the cost before any work starts.

Do you only work in Kenya?

Kenya is home, and we also work in Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan and Sudan, often on cross-border trade and corridor projects.

Will our information stay confidential?

Always. That is why every project on this page is described without a client name.

Let's talk about your next move

Tell us what you are working on. A few lines are enough to start.

  1. A reply within one working day, from a person, not an auto-responder.
  2. A short call to understand the brief, the deadline and what a win looks like.
  3. A written proposal with scope, timeline and fee, before any work starts.
